Well my 17" LCD is at 60 right now. When I uncheck the "hide" button, I get all of the options. Would running at higher than the recommended 60 mess up my moniter? What refresh rate do you recommend?

I recommend keeping it at 60...Chances are that whatever you're running on the LCD, the display won't be able to render 60 distinct screen refreshes anyway without frames starting to blend into each other...Of course you might get some advantages in gameplay if you push it higher...it might come out looking quite bad though. I don't think most people go above 75.

Ohh I see. Best to leave it at 60? Will there be like warrenty voiding or anything by changing it?

The manual or website should say what resolutions and refresh rates it can support. Usually, the most is 75Hz for native resolution. I don't think the manufacturer would like knowing you ran their monitors out of spec if something bad were to happen, though I haven't heard of LCDs blowing up if they're run faster ....Just keep it at 60Hz...an LCD is slow enough that it would probably look the same at 50hz even....We'd likely need to hit 4ms rated and below to start worrying about refresh rate limiting display performance.
