Refresh rate troubles

Hi -

My monitor does not support low refresh rates, and when I play BF1942, the screen flickers at around 2FPS. I have tried to set Rivatuner to a default refresh override, but it is not saving. Any ideas?

System specs please! Monitor and Graphics card models are most important when solving these.
