Refresh rate question

I have 2 pc's on a kvm switch, with a 21in CRT.
Before i moved i had the refresh rates set at 75hz and never had any lines or interferece or anything.
When i set up in new house i have to set it to 100hz to get rid of it. Basically looks like interference from power or something. I have everything set up almost exactly like it was b4.
I guess basically my question is, will setting the frequency to 100 hurt anything? cuz anything less than that and it kills my eyes. Does it on both systems, while playing games, surfing inet, anything.

I would crank it up as high as the monitor's support and leave it. if you go too far it will either cause visual tearing OR cause the screen to turn off....if the monitors are getting a few years old be wary...too high a refresh rate can damage them. make sure the refresh rate IS supported...be leary of using unsupported rates.
