Reformatting SSD-Primary/HDD-Storage

Hello everyone, I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with. I've searched Google extensively but can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for.

My current setup has an SSD (OCZ Vertex 3 120GB) as a boot drive, with a few games and such on it, and my HDD (Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB) as my storage drive.

I've ordered a GTX 680 and I want to clean the computer out for it's arrival. There is nothing really wrong as far as virus/trojans etc, but I'd just like a fresh install.

In terms of reformatting the drives.
I've seen there are different levels of reformatting for the SDD, which is the best option for me? (The drive is only 6 months old) The quick windows reformat or doing a full wipe with some cleaning software?


Also, how do I wipe the storage drive? I've only ever reinstalled windows and done it that way, is there a way to do this without installing windows on it?

You can just use the quick format that is part of te Windows installation. If you really want to, you can do a secure erase to restore the SSD to like-new condition, but it isn't required. Don't do a wipe with cleaning software, there is no need for an SSD. As for the storage drive, just do a quick format on it before you shut down the system to put in the video card.
