Hi, I have x2 200gb SCSI disk, not sure about raid setup probably raid 0 nothing above as no mirroring, I am trying to do a regular reformat of my C: (0) drive as the operating system/programs are messed up. I can start the pc and win xp loads ok but when I use the xp cd to start the pc. - sometimes it comes with a windows blue error screen and sometimes when it goes past this it gives the - options and enter to continue, when I press enter it comes with the message saying that 'no hard drives found'.

I don't want to do a low level format as it will take ages. I can probably use dos to format it as when I start with dos I can see all the drives, but will I have problems of not seeing the drive when I use windows to XP setup CD.
Thanks.

You need the driver floppy that came with whatever controller you're using. Check your motherboard box. Press f6 when windows asks about it and it'll load and all will be well.

Thanks for your reply, when the message comes, its on the first stage of win xp setup, at the blue screen where it gives option to continue or F3 to exit. I beleive that there is no facility of using the disk driver at this stage.

You only have about 3-5 seconds to hit f6 right as the setup is starting (before it begins loading all the other drivers).
