Will changing only the CPU require a reformat? Say changing a 1.5ghz P4 to 2.0ghz CPU?

Not even if it's different core and bus? Thats good news to me if no reformat required! That means I don't have to reactivate my windows do I?
 
not unless you change your motherboard. anything else is fine (if you swap out graphic card you will need to clear the drivers before you install it)
 
Windows might see the new CPU and ask you to reactivate, but it takes 30 seconds...but to the original question, absoultly no format is required...but again im not sure if Windows looks at the cpu...i doubt it but just a heads up. Gratz on new cpu
