The motherboard in my friends system went bad so we RMA'ed it and just got the new motherboard back. Would it be okay just to install the motherboard and start it up or do I have to reformat Windows? I would rather not reformat, there is a lot of stuff he would like to keep on the computer and it's the exact same motherboard. What do you think? Thanks...

if its the same mobo then there should be no problem. make sure all bios settings are the same, but other than that nothing changed from when you removed the mobo so its basically as if nothing happened from the computers perspective

If it is the same motherboard, then it should be fine. Even if it is the same chipset (Via, SIS, NForce2) you should still be okay.

Everything went as planned... it took a few restarts to figure out the USB for some reason but all is good. :)
