Reformat or not?

I'm taking my new-ish 320gig Seagate out of my old PC and putting it in my new build. Should I reformat it, or can I just clear all the files off it? It does not have the OS running off it on the old PC but it will be the one and only drive for my new system.

whats the need to format it unless it is the main drive? if it's just going to be a data drive, then why take the long time to format it?
 
Well then a quick format will take 20 seconds at most. :eek: Putting the drive in a new machine and giving it a "fresh canvas" certainly isn't the worst thing you could do.
