Reflexion XPC Graphics Card Question

Hi everyone!

I have a 20th Anniversary Reflexion XPC (SB61G2), and I currently have a Radeon 9600xt graphics card in it. I want to upgrade to a nVidia Geforce 6600gt card but I am unsure of whether or not I will need to upgrade the psu as well to support the card. Does anyone know approximately how much power this particular XPC draws on the stock (220w) psu?

Don't worry about the PSU in Shuttles, they are made like tanks. I have a OC'ed X850XT in mine and it runs stable, 24/7.
 
Sorry, didn't read your sig. I see your stock PSU has 240w, 20 more than mine. Do you still think it will be fine?
 
Shuttle PSUs in general are very good, so yeah a 6600GT would be fine in a 220w one. Make sure to connect the 6600GT molex directly from the PSU though, not from a splitter.
 
What is the most powerful card it could run, in your opinion? How much power does your x850 xt OC consume? I may just hold out and get a 6800 or something.

I was just thinking.

A 6600GT is not really a significant enough bump from a 9600XT.

I would say hold out for a 6800GT or an X800Pro or XT.
 
I think a 6600GT would be a decent upgrade, however, this is most likely your last AGP upgrade, so yeah, it might be better if you save up and get a 6800GS/X850pro. I would think that your PSU should be able to handle those (not 100%).

I'm not sure how much my XT consumes, but it runs stable 24/7.
 
After deliberation and much web-crawling, I think I have settled on getting the XFX GeForce 6800 GS, 256mb AGP. Here is a link to the card for more technical details.
