Where can I get a reference 6950? Newegg does not seem to have any. Has to be reference.
 
Their rare to find at good price's and sometimes they don't send you the one they have on the picture. Goodluck

You might wanna just bite the bullet and go with a 6970 if the reason it has to be reference is to flash it!

Not THAT rare. I have seen a few in the past month on this forums "For Sale" area, and i even bought a XFX 6950 2Gb Reference for $260 off this forums "For Sale" area. I got it, love it and unlocked its shaders. Right now theres another one on ebay (but its $300 Buy-it-Now) with transferable lifetime warranty.
 
Some local mom and pop shops may have some. Also you should try local computer superstores as they don't move hardware nearly as fast as say newegg or tigerdirect. I won't be surprised if your local microcenter type of store has some. Since they haven't been made in so long you can check second hand e.g. ebay, craigslist, FS/FT forums.
 
You mean a 6970 - and that's very likely, but it's not absolutely guaranteed. It's also not reference (even though it looks similar)
 
Damn. Not interested in unlocking. Needed it to be reference for water cooling.

QFT unlocking is safer and easier than watercooling and install in water block. But I can see a reason someone wants to watercool but not unlock. Perhaps he wants a super silent pc. He might not even overclock.
