Alright I am redoing my cooling loop from the ground up. Im using Swiftech D5 pump as the heart of the unit and Im gonna stick with it. Now currently I am using a dual 120mm heater core for my radiator and I guess it works fine. However I am looking for something better to use with my loop...Panaflow M1A fans will be used here.
Also my waterblock is one of the limited Silver TDX blocks from Danger Den.
So heres the deal will this heater core be able to handle my CPU (opty 185 s939) plus my BFG 8800GTS on a DD block? Or will I need more?
Should I keep my current block or sell it for a Swiftech Apogee GTX?
For the rad I am thinking about ditching the heatercore for a Thermochill PA120.2. But would I gain anything or would I just be wasting money? What about the block? keep it or ditch it? Help me out guys I want to make the right decision!

Well from what people have told me in my thread, sticking with your current dual rad and adding the thermochill ontop of it should be good enough to dissipate the heat from the Opty and the 8800 GTS. I myself have an AMD X2 5400+ and 8800 GTX.

I don't know what the head pressure on the D5 is but my MCP350 has 15ft and a couple of people said that mine should have no problem supporting 3 rads (single + dual).

as much as id love to run dual loops or adding a second rad...I simply cannot do that in this case :(

In your situation, swapping out the TDX with a Fuzion and heater core with a Thermochill 120.2 would make great sense. I would even throw in a Fuzion Gfx block if you want optimal flow.

If it comes down to choosing one or the other, swap the heatercore for the thermochill.

I agree with the first part of what Rick says, however, I can't recommend using a D-Tek GFX block in a loop that contains a CPU or other blocks. The D-Tek GFX block is just as restrictive as a Storm...basically its a flow killer. It's got a 6.8 PSI @ 2 GPM pressure drop. It's block design makes it great for performance, but in a multiblock loop, it just hampers the overall performance of your loop. It doesn't matter much in my loop as I have both isolated in their own loop.

I'd have to suggest a MCW60 in your situation.

Why would you switch out your heatercore?

Thermochills are only better if you want lower RPM fans and silence. I think a dual heatercore will net you the same temps given you have high power fans.

I want everything Internal, sorry but external stuff just looks like ass to me. I really haven't had any problems with the S-TDX, but with everything I want more.
How would the heatercore perform against the thermochill with the same fans, the same, better?
I just want to make sure I am making the right decision. the GPU block is still up in the air so I am really worried more about the CPU and radiator. Should I keep m y current setup or change it?
I am lookin for 3.0ghz on this opty 185 if possible...god I hope it is.

I honestly would swap out the block first and then take a look at the radiator.
