RedHat 9 Help

Can some one please help me I need to change the way that my computer boots, right now it boots into the GUI but I want to change it so that it loads the text prompt only. But I forgot the command to change it.

I am very new to linux, I have a free version of RedHat 9 but If I can I would like to update the Kernel as well as the graphic drivers. Does anyone know where a good place to get the latest kernel is?

you need to change a certain file to point towards "init 3" instead of whatever it is now init 5 or something like that. im sorry but i dont remember the name of that file in red hat, poke around /etc/init.d and /etc/rc.d i think its in there somewhere; maybe one of the files in /etc.

edit: /etc/inittab change id:5:initdefault: to id:3:initdefault:
