Red Hat has unveiled the latest version of its Linux operating system today. The company says it has been working on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 for two years.

Developers for the Raleigh-based company touted Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 as more flexible and more manageable than its prior versions, and said they worked for two years on the product.

Cool... I use RHEL all day at work (it's our main desktop)... and it is definitely behind the times (older KDE and such).

I hope my workplace doesn't take forever in switching to this new version. I use the latest and greatest at home with Gentoo... so I always miss the new features and such when I go to work...
