The past few times my computer has been in sleep mode, I get no monitor signal and a red led by CPU on the motherboard when trying to wake the computer up.

I can cut the power off for a few minutes and then It boots up with no problems. Is this the CPU going out? Can I RMA through Amazon after 30 days? Purchased Feb 4, 2014.

Intel 4670k CPU
Ausu z87-a MB

Doesn't sound like a processor problem. Sounds more like PSU or motherboard.

What can I do to diagnose the problem. Get the red light with no signal now.

Do you have another processor or motherboard to swap and test?
Also, what BIOS are you running, and were you overclocked?

Don't really know what you mean by bios. But I never changed anything from initial startup.

Can you list your full specs? It's a possibility that your power supply died. Try unplugging your graphics card and see if the light goes away.

I'm assuming that you've made sure that all of your connections are in properly.

Intel 4670k CPU
Asus Z87-A. MB
Corsair cx430 PSU
Samsung 240g SSD
Kingston hyper blue 8g stick 1600
No graphics card used stock Intel.
Nzxt source 220 case with added cool master 120mm fan.

Unplugged all the power and replugged with no luck. All the case fans and CPU fan work.

Have you inspected the pins on the motherboard? One of them might be bent and not making contact with the cpu. Also, do you have another PSU to swap in?

Got it fixed.

Called Asus Customer Support and they had me move some strap over to reset something with the BIOS and now everything is working as it should.
