I've just bought a pair of red cold cathodes, and when I power them on they look pink (or fuchsia) but not red, should I RMA them? or with this technology that pink is as good as it gets?

It's very hard to find red lighting true to color, cathodes or UV.
Someone will have to recommend a certain brand or model that has an accurate red color.

One thing I noticed with Cathodes is that they tend to be much lighter in color than you would think. My green ones are kind of light, but thats ok because they're more on the lime green side :).

how about if I wrap them in red cellophane paper? would that help?

For red I use something like this:

I have one from a Cadillac around somewhere that im thinking of using for my Switch 810. Bright as hell. I mean BRIGHT.

Like WHABAM bright.

I had mounted them underneath my desk before, and it was just too much man. Too much.

Its the best way to get real red.

However, the cellophane will get it red for you.
