There seems to be this recurring issue with people that call me for support...
They often cannot click certain buttons in web based email. (this is where they first notice it but it most likely is not limited to just webmail).
i.e. the delete button doesnt work but some other buttons do.
The webmail the use typically runs off some sort of java. Such as yahoo.com webmail.
They sometimes cannot click reply, or maybe the forward button. Sometimes they cannot type into the body of a new message. It really could be ANY button or field that ends up broken, sometimes more than one at a time.
Ive tried completely clearing out IE cache, cookies, plugins, resetting defaults in IE.
Rip/reinstall Java
regsvr32 jscript.dll
disabling all 3rd party apps/services
Sometimes one or more of these steps works, other times they dont. What I would like to know is if there is some "better" way to fix these issues. Anyone run into this and know a good way to 'reset' things without significant things like windows reload or system restore?
