recovering formatted digital camera data

I formatted the memory card on my digital camera (uses xD cards). I wanted to know if theres a way to recover the previous pictures (haven't taken any new pictures yet). Figured this was the best place to go to, since Le Google didn't help.
 
According to its readme.txt, Restoration Version 2.5.14 [freeware] has been known to pull it off. Google might help you now...in locating the download. ;)

Be really careful with this program. It works, but don't use its option to wipe deleted material. I got myself in big trouble doing that. Luckily, I managed to save the drive's current data, but it was hairy there for a while. The wipe feature screwed up the drive's MFT...along with who knows what else. Just use the restore feature, and it's plenty safe. I feel comfortable in using it now that I know what it doesn't do correctly.
