I broke my test setup that is using Freenas in a virtualbox VM. Windows no longer sees the share and freenas basically says it can't read the VDI.

I attached the VDI to a Linux VM and it shows up in my computer but when I try to open the disk it says unable to mount.

I have done some searching but could't find anything that I found useful. Any suggestions?

None of the data is critical, just some software/ISO so no big deal if I can't recover the data. I would just like to at least attempt before starting over.
 
Freenas uses ZFS so using linux is quite pointless. Load up a freebsd VM if you want to get at it from another instance. That said I don't think that will help. Can you share any details about how it died? Why was freenas in a VM to begin with?

Wanna bet? Linux can read/write ZFS just fine, one just needs the right stuff installed. (ZFS on Linux)

My main fileserver is linux and yet it's got two RAID-Z arrays. First using the FUSE based one, later with ZoL.

I had a power loss on my computer which must have caused some issue. I am running freenas in a VM because I am learning how it works and I don't have the proper hardware right now. It was working great until then.

Tried a different OS but it saw the drive as a blank drive.

If there isn't any other options then I will just start over.
