recover windows 7 cd key

I was wondering if anyone here has used any good free products to show installed cd keys. I have used a few in the past for xp, but have yet to use one for 7. Ive googled up a few but im a bit hesitant to just download anything that could compromise a cd key *tinhat on*

Hopefully this isnt going to become a TOS thing, and this is definitely for my personal installs

so any good apps/methods would be great, thanks!
