after about 5 hours of work i successfully reformatted my hard drive and installed windows xp pro. it was the same copy of windows xp pro as used in my first format.
anyways my brother is a writer, and he had a very important play script which he wrote, saved on the hard drive. it was a microsoft word document (if that matters).
so i was simply wondering, is there any way to recover data after a reformat? i wouldnt logically think it could be done, but i hear stuff about evidence in criminal investigations being found on computer hard drives after they have been reformatted.
if anyone has any techniques to recover lost data, any links to software, or simply know its not possible; please post.
thanks in advance for all the help.
