The main application running on this box will be Nuendo by Steinberg. Just want some opinions on what my cousin has already picked out for this guy.

Here is what he has so far...
- 2 x 2.8GHz Intel Xeon's
- Asus PC-DL Deluxe
- 2 x 36GB Raptors
- 250GB for storage
- Radeon 9600 XT 256MB
- NEC 2510A
- 1GB or 2GB DDR 2700 (highest speed mobo will support)

The guy wants water cooling to eliminate noise during recording. (not sure if this really matters but he wants it)
- Thermaltake Aquarius III Water Cooling Kit

He already has a high quality sound card hence why it is missing from the spec list.

Not sure on a case for this box yet, but I was thinking Lian Li.
 
I built my friend a P4 2.8ghz with 1gig of ram and some hard drives for his general purpose/recording and mixing computer.

He is using ProTools and a Korg Triton Keyboard/Sequencer.
Here is a track he recorded in his bedroom with a couple of friends.

The vocals were recorded in the room with the computer and it didn't pick up any noise. Ideally, you would have your artist(s) in a sound booth while the computer is in another room.
