I need a hard drive i can disconnect and connect to other laptops/computers it doesn't need to be huge (250gig or less). Reading Amazon reviews and i notice a lot of the USB HDD's are faulty but i couldn't say if these posts are fakes.

I've used several USB drives, never really any problems. Go to Costco and pick one you like the price of, 250Gb or less is harder to find. Cost/Gb is probably going to be better at larger sizes--1TB 2.5" drives are only like $60.

The only drives I've had issues with were ones that i put drives in external enclosures. If you buy a factory external from Costco you can take it back pretty easy if it dies.

Have purchased over a dozen WD 1TB USB 3.0 drives in last year. Have had only 1 failure that WD replaced in 2 days. $65 or less right now in most places.

I have two WD portable USB 3 drives working fine. I've had multiple issues with Seagate, your mileage may vary.
