Recommended settings for Dell 2001FP?

Would anyone care to share the settings(i.e. color values, blacklight, etc) that they use on their Dell 2001FP? I just got mine and have been fiddling around with it, but am unable to get both the blacks black and the whites white at the same time. It's either/or at the moment, so I hope I'm just missing something.

Yes, I've tried that and it's not helping. That's why I asked for other people's preferred settings.

it will not matter it's going to be different from one monitor to the next...

So? At least it would give me a place to start from. Or someone might clue me in about some setting I've missed. Because right now, I'm finding it impossible to get a decent black without making white appear as dark grey. It's certainly possible that this is the case with all 2001FP's, but I won't know until someone tells me.
