Hey all,
I recently upgraded to an Asus P5Q-E running a C2D Wolfdale E8400 @ Stock 3.0ghz, with a HIS Radeon 4870 512 as the GPU.
I do NOT plan on overclocking any part of my system (I know, what am I doing on these forums then! >.<), but I do plan on adding a second 4870 512 to the mix, as well as reducing my 4 drives (80, 250x2, 320) down to three (Raptor 72gb control, Seagate 2x 1TB storage, all SATA in IDE mode). I've read that power draw on two 4870's can be a nasty lil bugger, so I was wondering what the recommendation for a good PSU would be? I will be installing these components into a new case, either an Antec 900, Antec 1200, or a CM Cosmos 1000.
Right now I have a OCZ 600w GameXStream PSU. I am thinking that I will need at the least a 750w PSU, but I am also considering the 1k units just to have that extra headroom. Budget for the PSU caps at $350 CDN (will consider $CDN and $US to be 1:1 for the purpose of this thread)
