I am running Windos server 2003 so the pc will probably be on 24/7

corsair xms 1gb 3200
abit nf7-s v2.0
thermaltake silent boost hsf

can i safely run 11x200 if the pc will be running constantly or am i safer just bumpin it to 11x185? also what are the recommended optimal ram timings i was thinken 7-2-2-2?

Thanks guys i just set up will configure all that in the next day or to and i appreciate any help for the newbie cheeze

Also anyone have any experience with server 2003 enterprise edition is that a good os or should i jsut go for xp pro??

i just saw 11-2-2-2 is recommened by some people , will i be able to pull that off

Go with XP PRO.

Well start with everything at stock settings and benchmark it with at least the following:

1) 3D Mark 2001 (330)
2) AquaMark3
3) Sandra 2004
4) AIDA 32

Additional programs needed:

1) Motherboard Moniter (MBM)
2) Prime 95
3) Memtest 86

Once finished and recorded start your OC.

Step 1 lower your multiplier and slowly raise your FSB a few point at a time until you reach the limit. Once you encounter problems bump up the vcore and if that does not work try the vdd. Your vdimm should be fine until to get to the higher FSB range.

As you are testing keep an eye on your temps you do not want them to get to high. (I like to keep mine under 50c)

Once you have found the highest fsb back off a bit and raise your mulitpiler - this might need more vcore...

Keep testing and you will find the sweet spot between FSB - multiplier - heat - and benchmark scores.

Good luck and have fun but take your time and read as much as you can on the forum - it contains all the information you need.

[EDIT]

BTW 11.2.2.2 worked well for me but 5.2.2.2 was just a bit better :D
