I have a new Samsung 243T. I am having trouble with some vertical lines on the display, but will be exchanging it.

Which card would your recommended to drive this 24 inch "beast" monitors? I currrently have an nVidida based 5800 type card with DVI out. Any thoughts on the new 6600/6800 nvidia cards? How about the next ATI lineup (X800?)?

Most of my usage is for internet browsing, email, and office applications. My old eyes need good clear text for this.

2nd major use is for digital photography. I am a "semi-pro" photographer. Mostly it is of the kids and such. But I do some wedding and studio work using my Canon 10D Digital SLR from time to time, and Photoshop for touch up. Also starting to do more video work with my Sony TRV950 and Vegas Video for editing.

Play DVD's and Divx movies on the display periodically.

Gaming is somewhat limited, so not a major issue. But would like the good graphics if needed. (I am into MS Flight Sim for example)

Thanks in advance....

Greg

the best 2d with ok gaming would be the matrox parhelia. and i mean the best 2d. :)

The man has a point. ATI has outstanding video play back capability so in your case that would be a good choice as well. I am rather impressed with my 6800 ultra as long as i use the NVDVD player otherwise DVD playback sucks.

Your card should be fine for now. But if you are looking to upgrade, look at the x800 because ATI has always been good for graphics, multimedia stuff like divx....But the 6800pro is not that bad either...

I have an Ultra with 2 DVI's and it handles 243T very well. My only gripe is my secondary LCD output being fuzzy for some reason.
