In the near future my mouse and keyboard have to go. I've stuck with Razer thus far and have been pretty disappointed.

I hear the naga is the bee knees for MMO's (WoW solely) but is it good for other games?

What else is out there that isn't Razer and stands up to lots of gaming use. (WASD keys, mouse buttons)

Looking for a keyboard with backlight, corded is fine. Mouse, thinking of going cordless again, what's the good word?

I have tried a few Razer products over the years and never been fully impressed, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions of course.

Just recently I upgraded to my first mechanical keyboard, and since a LOT of my components and my mouse is Corsair... I went with the newly release Vengeance K70 w/ Cherry MX Brown switches.
This keyboard has been fantastic to say the least! I love the minimal feedback from the Brown switches, and the backlighting on it's lowest level provides the perfect amount of illumination for gaming in low light or darkness.
I play a lot of WoW and Black Ops, and I find myself removing the contoured/angled WASD keys for WoW, and love them for BO. One minor drawback is the keys themselves seem to be spaced just a hair further apart than all the other keyboards I've used... takes a small bit of getting used to but ultimately the response and feel of the keyboard win out over this one trifling issue.

As for mice, Logitech of course makes very fine gaming mice, and they've never let me down. I upgraded to the Corsair Vengeance M60, and won't go back. The adjustable weights and great construction make this mouse my favorite of all time. It's solid, slides smoothly, and has a few programmable buttons, nothing like the 18-gazillion that come on a lot of other gaming mice these days, but I found that I was always accidentally clicking them in the heat of a one-on-one or in a boss fight.

Everyone has their own preferences, and I've gone through MANY KB/mouse combos and brands since the 90's before there was even a real 'gaming' niche for these companies to market.

Hope my experiences help.

Pretty much sums up my experiences with Razer, I get about 2-3 years out of their keyboards and mice.

Wow damn, thanks man those look like great choices. I think that's what I'll go with.

I personally use a corsair k60 km and a logitech g700 and I love the combination.

I've never seen that program, 800 dpi sounds slow? What am I missing here?

i own the same setup as status, M65/K70. i won't give some in depth review as you'd be better served to see what the reviewers think, but i will say i am impressed. from the keyboard's black anodized aluminum body to the mouse's aluminum frame, corsair did a hell of a job...8200 dpi on the mouse, the keys on the keyboard can be individually backlit...and more

It's for measuring the perfect control speed, very handy for low sensitivity players

Avago 3090 has a native setting of 800dpi,

but 1600 and 3200 settings are pretty good as you can see in the following pics

It seems to be best 3090 implementation to date ! minus the kinda high lod ( 3-4 CDs - depending on the surface )

pics and testing come from a friend of mine, Alexopus6 - high level CoD player - thelab.gr reviewer and musician

I am just returning a Razer mouse, but the keyboard survives so far. I got the Ultimate Stealth with the Cherry Brown keys. Can't find too much wrong with it, maybe a bit flat. You won't be able to easily destroy cherry brown switches. The spacebar sounds a bit funny, they don't have a good enough mechanism to keep it level while using it.

However, it is very difficult to find a full backlight cherry brown keyboard without going all in on Ebay. Technically speaking this isn't full lit either. The number keys (the ones on the top) have no backlight for the symbols !@#$%^&*()_

The newer cooler master quickfire and rapid fire keyboards come logoless and they got rid of the stupid company branding. It is now on the side where the cable comes out so you never see it.

Highly recommend this keyboard
