Greetings,

We are considering moving our users from a Persona management setup to persistent disk setup. In VMware View, you can set a user's profile to be stored on a persistent disk. What this really does is create a VMDK file that contains all the user's profile folder data and store the VMDK on our datastores.

The trouble this creates is that with Barracuda, for each and every single user you would have to setup a backup source. This would be very elaborate and labor intensive.

We are considering this route as opposed to continuing to go with VMware View Persona management because on VMware View persistent disks login and logoff times are instant, and everything works on the VDI as though it were a real desktop tower computer (personalizations are maintained across logins, no weird glitches of bugs such as Administrative Tools being pinned to Start Screen or pinned items disappearing, applications having conflicts with a roaming profile environment no longer a problem, no require to wait in between logging off and logging back in due to synchronizations in progress, all GPOs apply very fast)...

One of the solutions we are looking into is Veeam. Any suggestions?
