Recommendations for Gaming Mouse

G400 got shipped today. Loving it. It doesn't sweat in hand. It is fast and precise. have customizable buttons and dpi settings and is big and comfortable! It almost takes too mych space :p
 
I must say, after completing a few raids in WoW and logging some hours in SWTOR, this mouse in superb! It took me a good hour or two to set it up to my liking with in game key bindings and such but after that, it was outstanding. It actually improved my dps in WoW slightly thanks to the 12 side buttons, not to mention, this mouse looks dead sexy in the white version!

I tried the G600 for a few days, but I just couldn't get used to the G-shift button. I couldn't possibly tell you how many times I accidentally clicked that thing. I ended up getting a Corsair M90 yesterday, and I think this is the one I'm going to keep. I must say, the M90 absolutely oozes quality (hello, aluminum construction).
 
ive got a mx15, deathadder and sensei
and the steelseries sensei is the best one ive used so far
 
Thought I would chime in with my experience on the G700. Bought this about 14-16 months ago and it's been a fantastic mouse, I've used it for everything from MMO's to FPS games with no problems. I've noticed some people complain about the cable being too stiff but I haven't noticed that at all. What amuses me about that is this is a wireless mouse, why would you have the cable plugged in for any extended period?

Now for the bad part. My left click is starting to fail and from a quick Google search this isn't uncommon. I've tried everything the Logitech reps recommended as well as disassembling it and blowing it out with a can of air with no success. The sad thing is I believe this is the best mouse I've owned but barely over a year from purchase I'm forced to try to RMA it (from Korea) or buy a new mouse, can't say I'm too pleased with that.

Logitech mice in general have a problem with LMB/RMB durability. This hasn't changed since I started using them in 1999. Cleaning it does absolutely nothing since it is caused by wearing of the actual button contact. If anything this would make it worse. I've quick fixed it by sticking a couple layers of tape on the contact point to make it a little thicker, but this makes the button a little mushy and really doesn't work for very long. The only real solution is replacement.

Logitech has never given me any trouble with replacing my mice, which is the only reason why I still use them. I bought the first gen MX518, which got replaced by a G5 (which sucked ass), which eventually got replaced with a G500. I also got a G9 when they first came out and that was replaced by my current G9x over a year ago.

All of these replacements were free and all were due to LMB wear.

I'm actually not a huge fan of Logitech mice as all the mice I've used from them (including the two trackballs I've owned) have had design issues or straight up lackluster sensors (G5 in particular). However their customer support is top notch and having only bought two mice and one trackball yet owning seven of their products is pretty ridiculous.
 
Can someone tell me what the default DPI settings are on the G700 and the reports/second?

I hear it ships with 500 reports/second, but I was wondering if that can be adjusted on the mouse without installing the SetPoint software.

I've owned a few logitech mice going back to the first real wireless(mx500?) and have never encountered this, I was a bit surprised. Ill stick with logitech though as I've always preferred their products.
 
ive went through 3 logitech g700s in the past month.


the scroll click only registers approximately 95% of the time, on all of them. even pushing down with all my force. also, holding the middle click causes an infinite scroll upwards about 1% of the time. also on all three. its not a counterstrike mouse, its a farmville mouse.
 
After 5 solid days of use, I give this mouse 5/5. Once I was able to set my key bindings from WoW and SWTOR up and get used to them, I can't imagine using another mouse!
