Hi guys , I'm looking for a budget case Under $30 I want something that can give me a good ammount of airflow and look nice, my budget is under $30 , if you could recommend some cases that would be awesome. :)

Just take whatever case you can get for $30......there's no point in being picky when you have such a small budget. Hell, use a cardboard box its as good as any other case you will find for that price.

How dare you skimp on a case................... case = #1 priority.............then comes the hardware :D

true, just take any case and then mod it for good airflow

I bought a $29 case from CompUSA a while back, and its pretty good quality, and has great airflow. Check there.

I remember working on a POWMAX and it was horrible. It was flimsier than a blonde in a bar.

My local computer shop has a back section with a bargain corner where they put returned PC cases and sell them for under $30.

They are usually dented or have some problems like a broken led, but a good case modder can really fix it up and get a bargain

if you are strapped for cash, get this case: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-145-032&depa=0
it has to be the best budget case ive seen in awhile, ive used it for my last 3 builds for customers who needed a budget system. Very easy to work with, very lightweight, has space for 4 80MM fans, and the black version comes with a decent 450W psu.
And the best part is the free shipping!

I would have to say that's the best $30 case I've ever seen. Even if the PSU is crappy it's still a pretty good deal.

^^^ I have to agree that that case is a good one for the money. It looks very "moddable" :p

there is a pretty decent antec clone at compussr for $29.99... they have it in beige and dark grey... i just build a pc for my father in it and its a pretty decent case, has 2x 92mm fan holes (rear and side panel) and 2x 80mm fan holes (mobo side and front)

no powersupply, but for $29 i wouldent want to use any powersupply they give me anyway :eek:

I am surprised that you can get a case with a power supply for so cheap. I always figured cases that cheap didn't have PSUs.

all i will say is the PSU's are cheap for a reason...

i would definately not trust my rig to a crap psu... ive seen too many of those "came with the case" PSU's blow up or catch on fire (yes, fire) and take out expensive mobos/chips/video cards etc...

no reason to use those psu's anyway since you can get pretty decent PSU's for cheap, fortron 350watt is $28

even their 530 which is an awesome server psu is only $75(!)

and it has two +12 rails! one for the mobo and one for your drives/etc

You have a distorted perception of the word "decent". Powmax PSUs are absolute piss.

Here's a better choice: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-156-018&depa=0

I also say do not use a Powmax PSU. I put together a computer (very budget) for a friend at work and he picked out a Powmax case. It didn't come with enough screws etc. To get an idea of the quaity of their PSUs look at this image for the Powmax case mentioned earlier. To the left of the 4pin aux mobo connector, and above the top floppy connector, their is another connector which doesn't even have wires tto all the connector points. They just "looped" the wires that were there to occupy all the places. The case was flimsy, but light. A nice change from my Antec rock.
case = not bad
PSU = NO!

P.S. If someone could tell me the name and what the aforementioned connector is used for, I'd appreciate it. Is it Intel specific? I don't have any experience with Intel.

the worst that ever happened to me with powersupply incidents is it took out a 120gb wd 8mb buffer drive... it wasnt even the psus fault... i had done a mod and i stripped down the powersupply and secured it on top of the harddrive... then when i turned it on, i was like, i should tilt it up so i can blow a fan towards it and i grabbed it but it slipped while it was on and fell down to the harddrive.. SPARK and it was dead... i m either stupid or really clumsy since i did this at 2 in the morning when i was supposed to be studying for finals

second worst incident is that it took out an old motherboard... o well
