Hey guys,

I’m looking to build a core i7 gaming rig. I’m eyeing a couple of boards at the moment but I need ideas for small cases and here’s what I’m looking for:

Ideally MicroATX SFF
SLI capable – multiple expansion ports
Decent 300W+ power supply

Looks like your aiming is ITX rig, if it's seriously Core i7 gaming rig, stay away from 300Watts PSU.

Asus, EVGA and DFI release their X58 uATX mobo's. Majority of mATX Core i7 user's here have a positive feedback from asus. Try to look for SFF Gallery, MassiveOverkill and CrazyRob made a good job on their rig :)
 
I have my eye on the Lanbox Lite VF6000BNS with an ASUS Rampage II GENE LGA 1366 Intel X58 although the MSI X58M LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard is a good budget board. Ideally the case wouldnt look too out of place as a HTPC.
 
I would just get a X58m. With the savings. you can get 3rd party heatsinks that'll run cooler than other expensive MATX boards. Thermalright FTW!
 
The X58m board and the LIAN LI PC-V350B case looks like a nice combination.

I notice that the P57 chipset are out next month and the it supports Lynfield processors (future core i5 and i7) whereas the X58 doesnt. Would it be worth waiting for this?
 
The LIAN LI PC-V350B looks really nice, hope your build goes well and take lots of pics. I'm strongly considering this type of box, because it looks great and it's way cheaper than getting a shuttle pc

x58 will be supported for another 1 year and half on intel's road map.
 
I have a microfly and I love it. You can fit a full sized PSU in it without modificiation (1000W will fit with some dremel work). Also, if you trim the support on the right side, you can fit some pretty big HSFs in there. It's a fun little case to work on as well. I've got a picture of my old setup in there here.
