Recommendation for a laser printer?

A friend is looking to get a new printer that works with her iPad (which supports something called AirPrint).

I've convinced her it was time to dump ink jets as she spends a small fortune on ink while printing about as infrequently as I do while I haven't paid for replacement toner in over a decade for my venerable color laser (a QMS 2300-DL).

Can anyone recommend a laser (preferably color) that would fit the bill?
