Recommendation and question

I'm looking at getting a new system soon at which point I'm going to need to upgrade to a PSU with a 24 pin.

The PSU will be running an X2, your normal array of optical and hd drives, a 12v pump, and lets just say for safety 2 high end video cards.

As can be seen by my profile, I'm goin to be planning on doing some OC'ing so voltage stability and modification are somewhat important. I've been reading up, and I'm really not sure which PSU to get at this point. I'll want something that is SLI capable, 24 pin, at least 500+ watts, and at or under ~$150 (pcp&c would be nice, but I really have a hard time justifying the cost).

The seasonic s12 600w looks good, but the lack of adjustable pots inside or outside the psu disuades me slightly.
The newer Antec truecontrol 2.0's seem decent, but most reviews I've read show voltage fluctuations that are higher than other PSU's on the market.

Anyway, any recommendations I can get would be great. If I'm demanding too much at too low a price, let me know. I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay more.

i'm personally getting the s12 600watt because of the noise to temp ratio's that i saw about it on silentpcreview. seems to be the best that i've seen yet, unless someone else can debunk this

If I were to buy the system now, I would get a DFI nforce 4 SLI board. I am however keeping my options open, since I won't be buying the board/proc until a month or two from now, so there could be an ATI board in the future.

Either way, I'll be buying something that gives over 3.2v to the ram.

Well the Seasonic is out then. The DFI's power design is a problem.

Pick a "proven winner" from the "A" list & you won't have any problems. :D

Thanks for all the responses.

At the moment, I'm starting to lean towards the Hiper 580 typ-r.

Has nice high voltages with very little fluctuation according to the reviews I've found. The modular is a nice benefit, and it's offered at a fairly good price. If anyone has any reason why this wouldn't be a good psu for my needs, let me know.

The Hiper Type R's are good buys in the UK/EU, however they are not great PSU's.

Stick to the "A" list in the DFI PSU Guide & you will have excellent results. ;)
