i would say a 9600XT or a 9600 Pro would be a "fit" for the system...but i guess its up to you...what are you using it for? or who is it for, might i ask?
usage really matters...if its for ur sister/mom or something, then you don't need the most badass card, nor would u need a 9600XT...you could get by with a 9500 or something...but if it was for someone that wanted to game, 9600xt or 9600 pro will do fine...

9800pro...if you went too low, you'd be stuck with a crappy card in case you do land some more cash...if you get just under the 9800pro you'd have a decent card, but you have to remember, not a lot of games are cpu intensive. so, you don't want to screw yourself with a possible bottleneck in the card and waste your cash. If you feel really lucky, you can try and get one of the 9800se with the r360 chips and 256mhz ram that isn't shapped in an L and soft mod it to a 9800pro. Also, if you still don't feel like paying the 200 bucks for the 9800pro get a 9600 or 9700pro. I still suggest the 9800pro though...great card for the cash, and I'm sure you'll be able to use it well.

the only reason i suggested the 9600XT/Pro is because i don't think its HIS system...notice his sig....

the 9600XT is an old card, its got older architecture, so therefore it will be much slower...
with less clock speeds on my 9800 Pro, i get around 18000 on 3dmark 01, as opposed to the first reviewer with around 11000...do yourself a favor and get the 9800 pro
