recommend me a water pump

I need a good, quiet water pump in the $50-66 range. My Eheim 1250 is noisy and too large to fit well in my either my P180 or my AMG Plus View 1000+. Currently, I'm only cooling my 2900XT with a maze4 and a DD Black Ice II radiator, no res - jus a t-line. I don't intend to add my Q6600 to the loop any time soon. So, any suggestions for something small, quiet and somewhat cheap?
 
I love my dB-1 by Dtek... very quiet, runs off a mobo header, and has been going for 5 months strong now!

It's great for a CPU/GPU only loop. The mounting system's a bit wonky, nothing some epoxy can't cure.

It would be about $29, shipped from those guys. I can't hear mine over the fans, but I use >80CFM 120s, so YMMV. Get an aquarium model, as there is also a pond model you wouldn't want. You need 1/2" FPT -> the right size barb fittings for it. I got my brass ones at Home Depot for ~$2 ea.

The thing has worked for me very well. No issues. Again, YMMV - it would be a cheap experiment, though. It was a very cheap, but very successful, experiment for me. That is for sure.

Aquarium pumps were once the go to choice for water cooling pumps, but modern pumps have progressed greatly in the last few years. If your budget is that low and you're willing to add the proper barbs(/possible sealant) and either leave it running 24/7, remember to plug it in every time, or add the cost/mossing of a relay, aquarium pumps can perform competitively with D5s and DDCs.

The biggest drawback of aquarium pumps is their low head compare to D5s and DDCs, which along their (usually) higher power consumption contributes to their overall lower performance compared to 12v pumps, while usually also ending up louder at the same performance levels. Not to say they don't have their place in water cooling today, just that if you can afford a 12v water cooling pump, it does have plenty of extra benefits compared to aquarium pumps.

So, in short, in order of cost:

Low: Aquarium pumps - will likely need to purchase fittings, possibly seleant/mounting. Lower pressure, so lower flow at higher restriction situations. More heat, frequently negating any performance gain compared to 12v pumps. Also takes up a larger footprint, and can be louder. Most can be run submerged, however.

Medium: dB-1. Comes from a series of $40-$50 pumps that are incredibly small, but previous equivalents had a few reliability issues. So far, seems to offer a nice blend of performance, noise, and ease of use for the money. Just keep an eye on it.

High: D5/DDC (aka Swiftech MCP655, MCP350/355) D5s are slightly larger, but have incredible performance and possible adjustability (some include rheostats to reduce noise at the cost of performance). DDCs come in many versions, but all have great performance in higher restriction situations, have a small footprint, and aftermarket tops can make them the highest performing and most expensive 12v pumps around.
 
I ended up going with the db-1. The price point was very attractive. If it proves to be unable to keep the temps on my vid card down, then I'll look at other alternatives. But for now...here's hoping!
