Recommend me a Thumb Drive

Title says it all.

Is there any to stay away from?
Any super hot deals?
What do you have or are thinking of getting?
I want it to be able to go on a keychain so it need the little hole.
Also, thinking about 512 but at least 256.

I ask because the buy.com deal in HotDeals fell through and now I need to go out and get the regular price so now I am looking for advice.

I really like the SanDisk Cruzer-Minis. I have a 256 and I use it all the time.

I guess my real problem in deciding is the speed. I here some are up to 3x faster than others, and the reviews on newegg could all be bullshit. Hopefully someone here owns 2 from different brands.

Heh. I own a Dell 128MB and a SanDisk 256MB Mini-Cruzer. Both perform well. I got the SanDisk 'cause newegg had 'em cheap. I find myself using the Mini-Cruzer more, 'cause it's a helluva lot slimmer than the Dell (got it last February), and the LED on the back is bigger and more fun to watch...not that I gaze upon it intently.

SanDisk is a good brand. I hear their memory sticks are slower than other brands, but their flash media seems to be top quality. I haven't tried any other thumb drives though.

You could check out Iomega. They were kinda the pioneers, or at least seemed to be to me.

Got me a whole Gig for less than $100 a week or so ago...doubt the deal is stilll good...think I found it at NewEgg

EDIT: Still works and comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty I think...plus the warranty from NewEgg...small as hell...works GREAT!!! CLICKETH HERETH

MB if you take the clear cover off how does it then work, doesn't seem to still have a usb connector on it. I ask because I also see the credit card holder, but that does not seem to have the usb connector either? So basically, is the credit card holder useless? Since you still will need the other case.

one of the best purchases i made on these boards. 60 bucks, pny 512mb attache' , kicks butt, i use it a lot to transfer files i need into new computers i'm building. works awesome, i love it.

Check out the new VisionTek Xtreme2 USB 2.0 GO DRIVE... they're inexpensive and come with some very useful utilities!

I really like the SanDisk Cruzer-Minis. I have a 256 and I use it all the time.

Got mine a couple months back when someone posted it in Hot Deals. No problems so far. One cool thing about these drives is that you can run apps off of them. Our machine software fits on it and I used it today to show it to a customer on his PC - just plugged the little bugger in, surfed to my executable, and ran it. Pretty nice. Me likey.

Take a look at THIS...the pic on the left is the cover on the USB thing with the black drive on it...the third pic is optional...like on my computer I need it cause it fits more securely in the USB slot...on the Mac at school I don't need it...all I have to use is the black drive...it also fits in USB slots BUT in SOME usb slots it can be a bit loose...also it's more secure in the optional clear holder if used with a laptop...the credit card thing is for storage...you can put the black drive (and one more if you have another one) in the card and put it in your wallet...I don't use it tho...I use the plastic thing with the cap that fits on the connector part...
