I'm about to embark on a little project, building myself an external radiator setup. I'm going to be integrating it into a small cabinet that I can keep instead of buying new radiators/pumps/reservoirs for every case.

That being said, I have space for two 560mm, I've settled on the Alphacool UT60 full coppers. I figure this is enough for even the most extreme rigs.

I need suggestions on the best pump setup to run those two, plus a few feet of tubing to the machine and obviously CPU and GPU blocks. I have a single MCP350, but it doesn't necessarily need to be used for this.

I'm thinking I will want at least 2 pumps in series to make this work and have some redundancy, if I added a second 350 with a dual pump top would it be adequate? Should I go with 3? There won't be any high restriction blocks like VRM/RAM/motherboard.

The only consideration is that it must be pretty quiet.
 
Get a Swiftech MCP35X2 pump. That pump will have more than enough force to keep your flow good. If you are good at making you own cables, you could even make a long pwm cable to control the speed of the pump. Another 350 pump with the MCP35x2 top would work too, but unless you can purchase the exact same series 350 pump, they could end up fighting each other a little.
 
I would go with at least two 355s or 655s, the 350s are a fair bit slower. If you take your pump apart and you have a blue impeller, you can possibly do the solder trick to turn it into a 355.

They're also a fair bit cheaper. I prefer 655's myself, but I already have this one. I'll have to take it apart and see what it looks like, its still in the box from when it got shipped to me.
 
Yeah, I rarely ever recommend the 35x pumps due to how stupidly expensive they are. 655s are generally cheaper, run cooler, generally more reliable, and quiet enough that speed control really isn't necessary. The only downside is their size.

Yes, size is usually an issue but not in this case as it will have a whole cabinet. I wonder how two 655's will perform with no dual-pump top, just plumbed in series. I don't need a pretty top that much as nobody will see it and they are pretty expensive. Trying to keep my project under $400.
 
My MCP35x pushes through 2 x 480mm rads, a cpu block, and 3 x GPU blocks without any problems, the PWM function is nice on it.
 
It's nice, but unnecessary and just an added cost IMO.

My 655 is pushing through a 360 GTX radiator and a 420 GTS radiator (both notoriously restrictive radiators), a Rasa block, and 2 GPU blocks in parallel, and it has no problems doing that.

I have to say parallel vs serial makes a pretty big difference for 655 pumps though. They push a lot more water when the GPU blocks were in parallel vs serial.

The price difference is only a few bux on somewhere like Sidewinder, but it's all personal preference really. I thought i'd give the 35x a go as i hadn't had one yet and my helix reservoir easily connected on top of it without looking retarded, i like it equally as much as the 655 i had in my last loop though, can't go wrong with either IMO.

Well, when I was talking about the price difference, I was referring more to the difference in price between the 355 and 35x. Although in the used market, the 655s tend to be a fair bit cheaper than the 35x.
