Don't want to overdue it so recommend me something that will run my system with a little extra power. Don't plan on upgrading anything, but will be OCing.

Computer Specs:
x2 120mm fans
8800 gts 512mb
Q6600
maximus formula
2x2gb ram
1 320gb hd
1 dvd rom/writer
1 cd rom/writer

best bang for my buck?
 
One of the best psus out is the Corsair 620HX. You can not go wrong with it no matter what.
 
I don't know about HX520 vs HX620 but between the HX520 (modular) and VX550(normal), I would choose the VX550 over the HX520 because it is cheeper and performs a wee bit better than the HX520. Read here.

Since you are not using 2 GPUs, I would think that the 550watts is good enough, even after extreme ocing. It is ratted at 550 CONSISTENT use, not the peak. Just my 2 cents.

If you don't believe me, an article shows 2 gtx, a Q6600 oced, 1 raptor on a hx620. Running prime95 and 3dmark together. How's that?
