Hey guys,

I've been looking for a new computer case. I currently have a NZXT Switch 810 and that thing is too big.

I'm looking for a mid tower that can accommodate an ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-z(12x10.6), and also can fit in my power supply which is 180mm in length. I thought I found one in the Phanteks P300 but I would not be able to mount normal hard drives along with my PSU.

I would like to stay sub $100.

What do you mean by "You would not be able to mount normal hard drives along with your PSU"?

You worried that the HD cages would impinge on a slightly longer PSU?

Maybe step up to the P400S? It's about 2.80 inches deeper.

According to Phanteks the P300 will only allow up to 160mm PSU and still use the hard drive tray. My PSU is 180MM.

With the plethora of cases out there these days, you need to provide your other needs/wants/equipment.

What's priority?
Looks?
Cooling?
Do you have liquid cooling (need rad mounting)?
Huge heatsinks?
Do you want RGB?
how many 2.5 bays or 3.5 bays you need?
Do you need 5.25 bays?
you want USB 3.0 or 3.1 or even C ports?

Looks? Prefer to stay conventional in looks/ window is fine but prefer black/grey.
Cooling? Air cooling, filters is a definite want as my wife has a cat.
Do you have liquid cooling (need rad mounting)? Air cooled, so no.
Huge heatsinks? I have a Hyper 212
Do you want RGB? Not especially, getting older and not fascinated by lights anymore.
how many 2.5 bays or 3.5 bays you need? I need two 3.5 bays, one 2.5 bay
Do you need 5.25 bays? No
you want USB 3.0 or 3.1 or even C ports? USB 3.0 is good

160mm = 6.29921 inches

180mm = 7.08661 inches

Different: 0.7874 inches

Phanteks P300 PSU Clearance (Including cables): 197mm = 7.75591 inches

Phanteks P400/400S Clearance (Including cables): 270mm = 10.6299 inches

So yeah. If the specs on the P300 just too tight, step up to the P400.

These are right off Phantek's site
