OK Im looking to finally upgrade my HSF from the Volcano 7+. I want a HSF the uses the P4 retention bracket and provides excellent cooling for overclocking. I don't want a Bolt-On HSF because Im to lazy to pull all my shit and out and mount.

I have a 3.0C@3.75 and I want to get it a little cooler.

TIA

The Zalman all copper sink/fan combo is probably your best bet for quiet, effecient, easy to install cooling - or so I've read. I have the Thermalright SP-94, but I wish I would've just gotten the Zalman - it would have been easier and I've heard it cools better anyway.

Guess I should have mentioned noise isnt a factor considering I have 4xDelta 80CFM 80mm fans in my case.:)

Even when noise isn't a factor, people still swear by that Zalman cooler -- Cooler master makes a rather interesting heatpipe solution as well - Here's some linkage for everyone looking for top-of-the-line P4 478 cooling:

Thermalright SP-94 -

Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu -

Coolermaster Hyper 6 -

The obvious advantage to the Thermalright and the Coolermaster is that you can put the loudest, fastest freakin' fan on top that you want! Hope that helps - when I got my thermalright, I was not aware of the performance of the Zalman ... or the existence of the Coolermaster....

You can't gp wrong with the Zalman 7000. Easy to install and a great cooler.

high price of all copper unit is around 50 bones.

twice that much can get you an Aquarius II or better ... and that puts my 3.0@3.76 under load to 119F max. Not that this kit is the ultimate/perfect solution, but it does add that extra margin of buffer.
