I'm planning to upgrade form my existing case-i-cute to a bigger case. The case criteria:
1. 5 hd bays
2. at least 3 optical bays
3. Side window
4. Great cooling with fillter for the fans(I don't like to vacum the insides every 2 months.
5. Lights optional, better with light controller.
6. Light. (this icute with 3hd 2 optical drives weighs 15kg)
7. Quiet
8. Easy to place in new hardware/removable trays.
9. Screwless optional. I don't mind using a philips

My icute comes with a 400w PSU, but when I tried placing in more hd, the pc restarts every 3 minutes. The case is a bit noisy, I can clearly hear the sound from 5 meters away. It has 5 8cm fans. 3 intake (2 front, 1 side), 2 out (rear). This case is enough for my expansion needs, only that its so difficult to place in new hd, & the calbes are in a mess, with another 2 hd, there is no way to hide any wires.
Here is what I bought for the new case/to settle the problem:

Tt butterfly 480W PSU(all cables sleeves) + a fan with fan controller. (Black color, silver sold out) Here is the link to the PSU

Cooler master Rounded IDE, floppy cables. (I tried finding a Vantec sleeving kit, but all sold out).
The window is for the PSU lights glowing :D & to monitor the dust, to know when to clean the pc.

What do you suggest? I could recycle some stuff from this case to place in another case. But the 8cm fans are just too noisy for the bedroom.

Here is what I have seen. Tsunami case (though it does not fit all the criterias). Any case fitting the above criteria will do.

4, 5 & 6

are all things you have to do seprate. No case comes with filters, and cases only come with ccfls if you get one of thoes package deals somewhere.

i have one of thoes antec/chieftec cases and i have had 0 problems with it.

its really a personal prefrence though, cause a lot of people hate these cases and like leaning toward the Lian-Li ones or the Coolermasters.

if you want go to the case modding gallery and look at ppls cases and get some ideas.

like i said, its really a personal preferance.

But the Tt does come with a filter. Actually, I don't care how the outside looks like, I'll see the gallery, but those are modded cases rite?

Is money no option here? If so then pick up the Lian Li PC-V1000, you can check it out here.

go to newegg.com

then find cases section

then use advanced search option or something like that

put in the info you gave us about windows, drives, bays, etc

get results

look at pretty pics

look at prices... *gasp*

pick and buy

Tried all the search criteria, nothing turned up.
The Lian Li PC-V1000 has no window.
My budget is around $150 and below.

Antec SLK3700AMB

1. check
2. check
3. nope
4. Check
5. nope.
6. nope, but hella sturdy
7. check
8. Drives are easy. Mobo tray isn't removable, but it's easy when the HDD cage is out
9. nope

To me windows/lighting are things you do yourself, so those shouldn't even factor in.
You can get it at directron.com without the PSU for pretty cheap.

Antec P160

Non-Windowed
Windowed

1. Yes (4 Internal Bays and 2 External)
2. Yes
3. Yes (Optional)
4. Yes (Filtered 120mm Fans)
5. Sorta (Lighted front, Add CCFLs later)
6. Yes (Aluminum)
7. Yes (120mm Fan/s)
8. Yes (Removable mobo tray, drive rails, side placed hd bay)
9. Yes (Everything, even PCI slots)

This case matches your critera pretty well I'd say.

internals are made for hard drives and externals are for floppys (external just means that it has external access), you can still out a hd in an external slot, and just leave the driver cover in.

you can always do a lil modding and fit in your own window

I have no tools for modding yet.
Which is cheaper, getting a dril/dremel set with rotary or buying a Tt Tsunami casing.

Kind of pricey but the LianLi PC-65b has good airflow, is windowed, has removable trays, really cool power/hd/led/front panel hookup (it's detachable), and I think the front fans have filters? Not sure. I personally ,just bought a Praetorian for $22 cheaper than the LianLi. Only thing thought, it doesn't have is a window.

The LianLi PC-65b is the same, if not smaller dimensions than my current pc. Not easy trying to hide the wires & providing good airflow to the components. Just changed the wires, made it roudned, tie things here & there, just a little bit better. The Praetorean is nice, no window. Somone decided to go old school with that design :D
My PSU tt butterfly keeps glowing & I cannot see it due to the metal case :p

Maybe I should focus on hd bays which are facing the side & the wires can go from the back. I've seen some pics in the gallery, the wires from the mobo go infront, makes it a little cluttered.
Any casing with rotatable, side hd slots?
