I am looking at buying a 20inch LCD to replace my 19inch CRT. I want something that takes up less space mainly as space is limited on my desk and I need to make room for some studio monitors since I am doing music on my PC. I am not a gamer at all, so it is not a concern to me if it blurs a little bit in Quake III or something like that. I would just appreciate recommendations. I have heard good things about Dell, but want to hear from users. Thaniks in advance for your time. I truly appreciate it.

SO you don't actually own this monitor you mentioned?? I would rather hear from people who actually own it. Remember that I am not a gamer at all. I still have an old ATI 9600Pro video card:) I'm all about music these days. I just need a bigger screen for my multitrack software. The higher the resolution, the more tracks I can see at one time. I forgot to mention this in my original post, but I'm looking for a 20inch with high native resolution, so make sure to tell me the native resolution along with the monitor. Thanks in advance.

Get something with an IPS panel. IPS panels have the best viewing angles and color quality. TN panels are good for gaming because they have low response times. PVA panels are almost like a compromise between IPS and TN panels (better quality than TN and better response times than IPS). Any S-IPS panel will likely make you happy :)

I'll vouch for the Viewsonic VX2025wm. You'll find a really long thread on this board about it and everyone who has bought it. Good reviews everywhere else and you'll find it on Newegg for $343 + shipping.

What is it's native resolution??? I want the highest I can get for displaying as much info on screen as possible.

1680x1050 . . . that's 20.1" widescreen native. I went from a 15" LCD that was 1024x768 native to this and I have to tell you, if you want room on your desktop this will give it to you.

I have seen more than my fair share of 20" widescreen monitors.

I will also vouch for the Viewsonic VX2025WM

Better than the A01 versions of the Dell 2007FPW I played with for a week.

im thoroughly satisfied with my vx2025wm, i plan on buying another before the end of summer
