Hey,

AN accountant in our company wants to use some encryption software on his laptop and i was wondering if the great minds of [H] could recommend some reliable software to do this.

He basically just wants to encrypt important files so if something ever does happen to his laptop there is that extra security.

This is really a new area for me, once site he was looking at was

http://www.cypherix.co.uk/cryptainerle/?adv=ec_es

but i dont know how much to trust a free version.....

Cryptainer is nice, but if you are looking to create an encrypted virtual disk then I would recommend Truecrypt. It is basically a free, more powerful version of Cryptainer.

If you want an nice easy to use solution for individual files, have a look at AxCrypt. It has really nice shell integration.

Don't forget about PGP as well.

I also use TrueCrypt.
