Recommend an enclosure please

I am looking to buy a 2.5" enclosure for a 40gb laptop hard disk. I have found few reviews on the internet for enclosures of this size and the ones I have found either seemed unreliable or bashed the product they were reviewing which really tells me what NOT to buy and not what I should buy. So I thought I would post this here to see if any of you had any good experiences with a particular enclosure that you could tell me about.
Some criteria:
  • Preferably USB 2.0 and IEEE1394 although only USB 2.0 would be ok too if there is an
  • excellent rive that lacks this feature.
  • As compact as possible.
  • As durable as possible.
  • Good transfer speeds.
  • No separate power cable required. A second USB connector is ok, but not wallwarts etc.
I think that’s all my criteria. Thanks for the help.
 
have you looked into vantecs? thats what we use at work. they work great for compatibility. not sure about the transfter speeds though.
