My UPS died today and I am looking for another one.

I want reliability and around 5-15 minutes of battery life for C2D systerm / 8800 ultra / 30 inch monitor.

Price is not so much a concern but under $500 would be great.

Also I need to find it at Best Buy or Circuit City or Frys (something local to me) in Dallas. Can't wait to get it shipped once I get home.

APC 1500va xs series from BB, got lucky and picked 2 up @ 39.95 each few months ago. Think retail around $200.

Liver, you might also check out Altex Electronics on Midway just north of the Adison airport.

They carry APC, Tripp-lite, Opti and a couple of other brands.

Fry's carries the Tripp-Lite SMART1200 and SMART1500 in store along with the OMNI900. All of which are under your price but will have significantly longer run times.

I like Tripp Lite and the seriously powerful rackmounted APC's.

APC all the way.

This unit here should do you pretty good without spending a fortune. Heck, if it's not enough you can get two of them and still be way under budget.

They're great units with one of the best warranties. Plus the LCD readout adds to the geek factor. :)

[EDIT] You can also look on fleabay for a used APC SmartUPS, they can be had at a good price and maybe even find a local seller.
