The cheaper the better but I'm pretty useless as far as netbooks go and I want to spend my money wisely. I'm hoping to find a deal this weekend on something but would be willing to look at used. Will mostly be used for internet/music/videos/office and some light school/work stuff (things like math programs). Needs a webcam and looking for decent battery life. Will probably use Win 7 on it but I like the idea of being able to use OSX on it too so thats a big plus. I also think it would be good to be able to upgrade to 2GBs of ram. Any suggestions?

I don't know if it's around this black friday because I don't live in the states anymore, but I picked up the Gateway LT2104u netbook in May of this year, and I love it. Great keyboard, great build, light, cheap, but not cheap feeling. Bumped it up to 2gb ram and put a SSD in there and it's been all over the world with me.. and going to 3 more countries this year.

Here's a review I wrote for it.

Don't know if you've already bought, but what about the Samsung N230? It's a touch over budget at $329 on Amazon, but has an impressive keyboard and overall design, and a supposedly chunky battery life (six and a half hours, and that's running it full pelt, according to this review here, where it wins an award).

Might be worth a look if you didn't manage to snap up a bargain...

I am in the same boat as you, so I will be watching this thread.

I am wondering if the AMD bobcat based netbooks are going to be worth waiting for, both for price and performance.
