I am looking for a modular power supply. Could anyone make some good recommendations? I would like the cables to be sleeved or braided.
 
the sleeving on the PS I posted above is from the factory. I would rather have sleeving from the factory any day.

Can you elaborate? After all, this is sleeving you're talking about. As long as it looks good, and doesn't cause short circuits or spontaneous combustion, I don't see where quality comes in. Performance PCs levies a hefty tax for their labor and parts over the original power supply price.

Made in the same OEM factory as Enermax, so your buying the same thing. On par quality with Antec and OCZ. I love my non-modular version. Costs a lot less, offers more.

thats a typo on frozencpu though. this PSU actually offers a 30A 12V rail, as well as 50A on the 5V and 35A on the 3.3V rail. and no these numbers aren't exagerated, it lives up to them. at least i know mine does.

yes thats correct I just posted my x-mas gift and stated how frozen pc has inncorrect info I ordered from proformence pc or should I say my girlfriend did! lol :cool:

Elaborate? sure.

Properly using Techflex with heatshrink isn't as easy as you think. They use shitty 3M stuff instead of the HS made by Wirecare or heatshrink.com. The shrink ratio is less, resulting in a looser fit in many applications (read: ATX line).

Do they offer fan replacement options? No. That right there tells you they have lack of expertise to modify internals.

That is a $17 PSU that he is selling for $99. Achieve/Viomaxx (they may have changed their name again) is one of the shittiest power supplies out there. Often times, their 3.3v line lasts like 10 min before it goes out.

Listen, I could go on forever. All Mark cares about is selling stuff cheaper than Performance PC's. He does it the cheapest way possible. If all you care about is cheap quality, then buy a PSU from him. Performance PC's has more experience with sleeving altogether, not to mention they were the only site to modify PSU's long before Frozen and all the others picked up the idea.

I don't care about getting into an argument about two companies that I will probably never buy from. I just observed that Performance-PCs charges a lot for their modified power supplies, when the same work can be done by the enthusiast for much less. It's nothing new, of course, but worth mentioning.

Well, it's not like I would have someone do the work for me, or that they could do a better job than me, but thanks for explaining the differences.

Agree. I didn't find out about their totally sleeved, modular PCP&C 510 Deluxe until AFTER I bought my Neo from Newegg. I did however buy a couple sleeving kits from them and sleeved my entire case. Just looking at the pictures, they have the best sleeving I've seen, and they will sleeve AND replace the molex connectors on ALL ends in whatever color you want at no additional cost. FrozenCPU offers free sleeving now until Jan. 3, but they charge you out the ass for molex replacement! Add up all the replacement connectors and it's higher than Performance PC's price. $10 to replace the molex connectors? $19 to replace the ATX connector???
