I'm not entirely new to Linux, but I don't have a whole lot of practical experience. I just came into a free (albeit REALLY old) laptop, and I figured since I don't care about it much, I'll throw Linux on it and actually start to do something with it.

This thing is an old old Toshiba Satellite 4000CDS, it's got a Pentium 2 233, 32MB RAM, and a 4.1GB hard drive, so needless to say, I need something that will be extremely low overhead. I've had other people mention Slackware, but I was hoping maybe someone here could give me a hand with the relative benefits of different distributions. I'm not afraid to screw up an install, but since I'm not a seasoned vet of Linux, it'd be good if I could get a distro that's at least documented well enough that I can figure it out.

I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.
