At the moment I have 2 17" LCD's on my 9800 Pro. I also have an old puny 14" TV that needs to be replaced. I would like to use that TV to watch movies off my comp using S-Video connection.

What would be a good sized LCD TV from a good brand for a decent price? Shoot me some ideas please :D

you really have to tell us what a 'decent' price is, since you run 17"s im guessing probably in the 300-400 dollar range? If so youd get probably a 17" lcd tv, lcd tvs are a little more expensive than monitors.

Why not just get a LCD TV with DVI or VGA and forget about s-video all together?

The TV will be about 4 feet away from the computer and about 6 feet away from the monitors. It'd be on its own stand facing my bed while the monitors are on my desk.

Essentially I wanna run 3 monitors.

In that case, I would get a KVM switch. If you want the best of both worlds though, get a 2005FPW, it has DVI, VGA, S-video and composite and is currently $354.

Is it a TV though?

No. It's a monitor. I thought you were just watching movies on your computer with it. If you need a tuner as well, you'd have to buy that seperately.

Yeah I forgot to mention that yes I am going to be watching TV through it as well. I'd rather avoid buying two seperate things and have all in one.

sooo back to square one - a good LCD TV for ~400?

Olevia is an okay brand; it was sold at the Staples store I worked at.

how about refurbished phillips?

yeah definately go with a CRT HD flat tv.. you can get a nice Phillips 35 i think for ~400,, fantastic picture and its widescreen @ walmart w/ a HD tuner.. although i hate walmart, shipping on a CRT of this size, would be the suck. If you really want LCD you will have to deal w/ a monitor or pay a lot more for a decent sized LCD TV.. i dropped 225 or 250 on a 15" for my parents.. so you can imagine you wont get what you want for 400.
