my price range is around 350-400 canadian dollars. i do game occasionally, so i don't want any ghosting or whatnot. oh and, NO newegg plz, they don't ship here.

i'm looking at the samsung 712N/710N (is there a difference?), cause they are in my range and have 600:1 and 12m/s.

oh and is 12m/s an overkill for gaming? or is it very useful?
 
I think the reason you're not getting any responses is because there are numerous threads about good 17" LCDs all over this forum. I just browsed the first 3 pages and saw a bunch of them.

Take a look at those and then look for prices... you will find what you're looking for. I guarantee it.
 
sry, but all the topics i see on the first 2 pages are about dell monitors, and most of them are the 2405 which is way bigger than 17". unless i'm missing something. ..
